Lupe Fiasco hit the rap music scene with his Kick Push single on the Food and Liquor album. Since his unique lyrical style has put Chicago back on the top of hip hop. His most recent album The Cool is in my opinion within the top 3 best rap music albums in 2007. Superstar featuring Matthew Santos is a smooth sounding song about becoming famous and living up to that title. Music TV is constantly looking for the hottest in rap music and the remix video attached above is just that. The remixed music video features Young Jeezy and T.I. in a trendy red carpet scene. Each of the individual rappers have their own little hometown set. T.I. features a down with the people picture of his hometown.

The main idea is that “superstardom” does not come without the evils associated with money and popularity. There are many shadowy snakes out there trying to get a piece of the next hot thing and this Lupe song touches on this real subject. Being real, lyrical and smart has gained Lupe a strong fan base that has melded over to other hot rap music artists. This collaboration remix features three of my favorite in rap music.
