It was an evening filled with entertainment last night at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inducted its 2007 new members. The honorees included The Ronettes, Patti Smith, R.E.M., Van Halen and Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five.
Most agreed it made a most interesting celebration despite the fact that only two members of the dysfunctional Van Halen showed up. Bassist Michael Anthony and one time singer Sammy Hager represented the rock and roll group. The metal supergroup Velvet Revolver stood in for the band and played their songs to mixed reviews.
The music night wrapped up with all the honorees gathering onstage to jam together with Patti Smith singing “People have the Power” to cap off the ceremony. |
